I've done a couple of favourite things posts in the past – er, way back in 2016, when I'd just discovered Sprout, the InStyler and, apparently, Nando's – but I thought it was about time to bring them back because I have a few things that I've been loving and wanted to share with you all, my adoring fans lovely readers.
This favourite things list is not exhaustive
It never is, is it? I'm sure there are thousands of things I am loving at any given moment that could happily be added to a list of favourite things – but, firstly, there's no point in writing a blog post that's 10 years long and, secondly, I can't remember everything. So you'll have to make do with what I can.
My Coileán clock
I first met Sheena Yolzari of Wreck the Record a couple of years ago when I was in Cork. She was working in Fishbar (a gorgeous Cork restaurant if you like fish!) and we got chatting when I was there for dinner. A little while later, she reached out and asked me if she could send me a bespoke clock, upcycled from a vintage vinyl record. Of course I said yes – and I received this incredible Coileán clock (to add to my embarrassingly large stash of Coileán-themed stuff) in the post a few weeks later. I love it so much, not only because it reminds me of Coileán but also because it reminds me of meeting Sheena, who was just such an instantly likeable person. She's on Instagram here.
Two Pups granola (and everything else)

Okay fine – I'll admit it – I'm addicted to Two Pups' everything. I pretty much go into this Dublin 8 café every day, either to get my breakfast, grab a coffee or sit down with a friend for one of their delicious lunch options. My current favourite things include their summer noodle salad; the avocado on toast with peanut butter which has to be tasted to be believed; and the super tasty and nutritious dahl they serve with sourdough bread and home-made yoghurt. But top of the list has to be their granola – topped with salted caramel, chocolate shavings, mint leaves, pear and apple slices. It's unbelievable.

I headed out to my friend Aisling Redden – of Beaut.ie – a couple of weeks ago to have the Phi Brows treatment on my eyebrows, which I detailed here (and will soon be updating, once I go for my top-up). I know it seems like such a ridiculously indulgent first-world treatment to have, and this may read a little hyperbolic, but there is something very freeing about never having to do one's eyebrows. I feel way more comfortable not wearing makeup now than ever before – and, even though I would frequently have gone makeup free, now I feel like I can wear zero slap to work and still look put together, thanks to my always-groomed caterpillars. So there.
Schitt's Creekis one of those shows my friend Ciara has been trying to get me into for an age, and I've been resisting because that's the kind of bitch I am, but I am so glad I finally gave in. It's funny and it's endearing and it's such easy watching which, after a harrowing second season of The Handmaid's Tale, I really needed. (In case you wondered, I love shit TV.)
The Kérastase Soleil range
I was sent a set of Kérastase's Soleil range a few weeks back, and it is 100% the shampoo and conditioner combo I will be buying for every holiday from here on in. For the past few weeks, my hair has been getting a lot of sun; my roots have been soaking up the SPF I'm too messy to keep out of them; and I've been lathering it in oil when it feels like it's drying up. The shampoo* and mask* have been making my hair feel squeaky clean and super soft, removing any build-up and adding UV protection (the mask), which I've definitely needed over these past few unconscionably warm weeks in Ireland.
Dublin singer Erica Cody was the latest guest on my podcast, where we talked about the difficulties of growing up beautiful and talented; swapping basketball for R&B; her musical influences; and how her mum's dog's puppies were born in the back of a van. It was all glam. I promise I'll have the transcript of that episode up soon, but in the meantime, please have a listen to her latest single because it is a beaut.
I know – this may be the most glamorous thing I've ever recommended, but if you've been following me for any length of time you'll know I've never shied away from the difficult truths of life (so why start now?). The number one difficult truth of my life is that I am a heavy sweater (not to be confused with a heavy petter). This "close" weather we've been having has proven very challenging for me in terms of getting dressed, cycling to work and being well dressed (and dry) when I get there. If you're going to buy Perspirex, know this: your armpits must be dry when applying. If I apply it two days in a row, my armpits sting. I doubt it's particularly good for me but I honestly don't give a fuck because, the morning after I apply this, my pits stay bone dry and that, reader, is all that matters to me. Perspirex: because not having sweaty armpits is worth it. (They'll be receiving my invoice in the post.)
H&M's GP & J Baker collection
This may be a slight cheat because it's not something I own or have even tried on, but I was taking a shortcut through H&M today and spotted the GP & J Baker collection*, which is honestly beautiful. If it weren't for this week being my €150 budget week (FYI: not going all that well), I would have snapped up a couple of pieces, namely this skirt and top combo*. Disclaimer: I had never, before now, heard of GP & J Baker, and I am not really in the market to buy any new clothes but, y'know, sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
The Mac Mama from Meltdown Dublin
Here's another much-hyped thing I was kind of avoiding because of said hype and, of course, once I'd tasted one bit of Meltown Dublin's Mac Mama – a cheese toastie with macaroni pasta and bacon in it – I regretted that decision immensely. I went with a friend who announced, halfway through, "I would eat this sandwich every day for the rest of my life", which is no small accolade. It has recently moved location to Curved St in Temple Bar, right opposite Filmbase.
