Things I'm loving: Clinique's Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm and Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm

Try saying that sentence 10 times over! I've been a big Chubby Stick devotee for a while now (insert obvious joke here) - at least in its traditional iteration, as a Moisturising Lip Balm. Whole Lotta Honey is my flavour of choice: it's a warm, plummy nude that basically gives me my natural lip colour, only better.

So when I heard the news that the French brand was adding to its repertoire not only a Cheek Colour Balm but a Baby Tint Moisturising Lip Colour Balm to boot, I was intrigued!

So here's what you need to know: the Baby Tint Moisturising Lip Colour Balm claims to work "with a woman's natural chemistry to give a revitalised look that will leave lips with the perfect amount of colour that is exactly right for her". So far, so jargony. I'm seriously sceptical about these kind sof claims, and I generally prefer my lip colours to be a little more obvious, but what you will get are sheer, shimmery lip shades that are perfect for summer - what little we have left! They're €20 and available in four "shades" named to describe the "blossoming" effect of the balm: Poppin' PoppyComing Up RosyBudding Blossom and Flowering Fressia.

As for the Cheek Colour Balm, here's where things get interesting: I love these. A sheer cheek colour is the easiest thing in the world for anyone to wear: it's easily buffed into the skin and even simpler to build up for a more intense colour. Clinique's Cheek Pops have kept me going all summer, so I'll definitely be adding these to my arsenal for when I want to go for a slightly more dewy daytime look. (At night, and I know it's a little dated, I prefer a more matte look.) These babies are €24 each and available now in four shades: Roly Poly Rosy (pictured), Amp'd up AppleRobust Rhubarb and Plumped Up Peony.
